Abandoned in a cage on a trailer in the desert, BlackWoman refuses to succumb. Escaping, she traverses pestilence and persecution, moving from desert to mountain to city, only to find herself ensnared once again in captivity. Those unwilling to relinquish their privilege keep her confined, forcing BlackWoman to escape once more, seeking solace in her origins.

Rolf de Heer
Rolf de Heer, a filmmaker born in the Netherlands and based in Australia, has directed 15 feature-length fiction films. He has written the screenplay for eleven of them and co-written another three. His film "Alexandra’s Project" was featured in the 2003 Berlinale Competition, and several of his works have premiered at prestigious festivals like Cannes and Venice. He has received accolades including the New South Wales Premier’s Literary Award, among other prizes.
